The "Old Town Road" rapper, 27, confirmed his mom Tameka Hill's death in an Instagram post on Saturday, Aug. 29, sharing nostalgic images of her and others showing them together during his childhood and rise to stardom.
"RIP TO THE BADDEST EVER! LOVE U FOREVER MOMMY. this one’s gonna hurt," he wrote in the caption.
It's unclear when or how Hill died, and her age is unknown.
USA TODAY has reached out to Lil Nas X's representative for comment.
His mother's death comes a year after his August 2025 arrest in Los Angeles after the Grammy winner was seen walking down the street in only his underwear and boots in a disoriented state.
