Library Authority partners youth federation for Mahama Presidential Library

The Ghana Library Authority has partnered with the AfCFTA Young Entrepreneurs Federation to develop the John Dramani Mahama Presidential Library and Legacy Centre. The project aims to establish a national knowledge hub and archival facility in Tamale.
Why it matters
This project represents a significant development in Ghana's cultural and educational infrastructure, aiming to preserve political history.
The Ghana Library Authority (GhLA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the AfCFTA Young Entrepreneurs Federation (AfYEF) to support the development of the John Dramani Mahama Presidential Library and Legacy Centre (JDM-PLLC).
The agreement, signed in Accra yesterday, is expected to strengthen the library, archives, research and knowledge-development dimensions of the proposed institution, which is being developed in honour of President John Dramani Mahama.
Under the agreement, the GhLA will contribute its institutional expertise in libraries, archives and knowledge development to help shape the proposed presidential library and its related research and archival functions.
AfYEF, which initiated and is advancing the project, will lead the broader development effort, including mobilisation of partnerships and resources towards the establishment of the centre.
The MoU also paves the way for the national launch of the project on November 30, 2026, at the University for Development Studies (UDS) in Tamale.
