LAHORE - The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday converted the death sentence awarded to convict Sohrab Rustam in the murder case of police constable Muhammad Munir into life imprisonment. A two-member bench comprising Justice Shehram Sarwar Chaudhry and Justice Sardar Akbar Ali Dogar announced the verdict on an appeal filed by the convict, challenging the death sentence awarded by the trial court.According to the prosecution, Sohrab Rustam had allegedly opened fire on Constable Muhammad Munir, who was present at a police post, over a previous enmity. The Pasrur police registered a murder case on October 27, 2020.
