Letterkenny walk/run to raise funds for heart & stroke support charity

A walk and run in Letterkenny will raise money for a charity which supports the families of heart and stroke victims when they need assistance the most.

This is the first time that Donegal has hosted a Croí Night Run for the Croí Heart and Stroke Charity, and is one of nine such runs or walks being held nationwide on Friday the 9th of October.

Kelly O'Dowd is one of the organisers of the run/walk in Letterkenny, which will begin at the O'Donnell Park at 7pm that evening.

She says that the Croí charity's facilities were vital for her family, after her father suffered numerous strokes and was hospitalised in Galway.

"My own family availed of their help last year when my father was rushed to Galway University Hospital for emergency surgery following three strokes in less than a week," she said.
