Lenihan hopeful Lee can turn Munster's fortunes around

Munster Rugby has appointed Avan Lee as interim CEO following the resignation of Ian Flanagan amid internal controversies. Former player Donal Lenihan expressed optimism that this leadership change will help realign the province with its clubs and supporters.
Why it matters
The appointment represents a critical attempt to stabilize the management and financial future of a major Irish sporting institution after years of declining performance and administrative friction.
Donal Lenihan says he's hopeful that Avan Lee's appointment as the Interim CEO of Munster Rugby can help the province to turn a corner after a tumultuous period.
Ian Flanagan quit the role last week in the wake of a number of controversies off the pitch, most notably the decision to appoint Roger Randle as attack coach before agreeing a mutual termination of that agreement.
On the field, the team have enjoyed limited success, with their last European Cup coming back in 2008, and just one addition to the trophy cabinet - a URC title in 2023 - since 2011.
Lenihan told RTÉ's Inside Sport that the connection between the province and both the clubs and supporters, has been damaged in recent years, but believes that is about to change.
"There's a massive amount of frustration within the way rugby has been run within the province," he said.
