U.S. President Donald Trump said Iran must pay compensation for "all of the people that they have killed and gravely wounded," saying he instructed his negotiators to include the demand in future talks.
Reacting to Iranian demands for Washington's compensation for the damage caused by U.S. strikes, Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform that it is "an interesting idea because now I am likewise demanding compensation from Iran."
According to him, Iran must pay compensation "for all of the people that they have killed and gravely wounded with their roadside bombs and many conflicts" and protesters Tehran killed "over the last 50 years, not to mention the 52,000 that have been killed in the last five months."
Trump added that he has "instructed my representatives to put this firmly into any, and all, future negotiations."
