TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The Tucson Police Department says officers were involved in an officer-involved shooting early Sunday morning, July 19.

The TPD said in a news conference this morning it happened on East Congress Street and North 6th Avenue about 2:00 a.m. when officers on foot patrol heard gunshots and responded to the area.

That news conference can be watched in the video player above.

Police say as officers arrived, they encountered a male suspect running from the scene.

Officers gave the suspect multiple commands before a uniformed officer fired his department-issued firearm and hit the suspect.
