LDF demands withdrawal of parking and user fee hikes in Thiruvananthapuram airport

The Left Democratic Front (LDF) has demanded that the Adani Group reverse the sharp increase in parking and entry fees at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. The LDF argues that these hikes place an unfair financial burden on the general public.
Why it matters
This reflects ongoing public and political scrutiny regarding the privatization of public infrastructure and the resulting costs to consumers.
The Left Democratic Front (LDF) has demanded the Adani Group to immediately withdraw its decision to drastically increase vehicle parking and entry fees at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, effective October 1. In a statement here on Monday, S.P.Deepak, LDF Parliamentary Party Leader in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, said that the group has adopted a measure that burdens ordinary people who come to drop off passengers or receive those returning from their journeys. “Since taking over airport operations, the Adani Group has consistently implemented measures that increase the financial strain on the common public. By reducing the time allowed for vehicles to be within the airport premises free of cost and sharply raising parking rates, they are forcing people into a situation where they are compelled to pay high rates,” he said.
