Lawyers’ body stages protest alleging police harassment
Members of the Bezawada Bar Association held a protest in Vijayawada to condemn alleged police harassment and the filing of cases against lawyers without sufficient evidence. The group specifically demanded the withdrawal of a chargesheet against an advocate named Gavaskar.

Members of the Bezawada Bar Association (BBA) organised a rally condemning police cases on advocates, in Vijayawada on Tuesday. The BBA members alleged that the police had filed cases against lawyers without proper evidences and were harassing them.
The lawyers said that the police opened a chargesheet against advocate Gavaskar, and they demanded that the police withdraw it immediately.
Later, they submitted a representation to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at his statue as a form of symbolic protest.
