Leading the direct allocations for the temple city is the establishment of a new special government law college in Madurai, scheduled to open its doors in the 2027–28 academic year with an initial intake of 300 students.
Environmental and tourism development also takes center stage, backed by a significant financial push.
To tackle ecological concerns, an allocation of ₹25 crore has been made for a feasibility study and the preparation of a Detailed Project Report aimed at controlling pollution in Cauvery, Vaigai, and Tamirabharani Rivers.
