Launch of expansion of Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Breakfast Scheme deferred to September 22: T.N. govt.
The Tamil Nadu government has deferred the launch of the expansion of the Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Breakfast Scheme , which was originally scheduled to be launched on September 17, the birth anniversary of social reformer Periyar E. V. Ramasamy, to September 22, in view of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s official overseas visit to London.
In a letter to all district Collectors, Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Secretary M. Pallavi Baldev said the Chief Minister will launch the expansion of the Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Breakfast Scheme to students of Classes VI to VIII in Chennai on September 22.
On the same day, the scheme will be rolled out in all districts except Chengalpattu and Tiruppur, where the Model Code of Conduct is in force in view of the ensuing bypolls to the Madurantakam and Dharapuram Assembly segments.
