A major water outages is affecting a large part of Donegal.

Uisce Éireann crews are responding to the complex burst on a trunk water main supplied from the Glenties Water Treatment Plant which occurred in the early hours of this morning.

Homes and businesses in the Glenties, Ardara and Fintown areas are affected by the outage.

Glenties-based Sinn Fein Councillor Brian Carr said: “The whole area is expected to be without water until late afternoon or early evening.”
