Latest list of Latvian companies doing business with Russia and Belarus published

The list has been supplemented with data for August. The publication of such lists is provided for by amendments to the Law on Support for Civilians in Ukraine adopted by the Saeima. The data is prepared by the State Revenue Service and published by the Central Statistical Office. Debate about it has been centred on the fact that while doing business with the aggressor states may be morally reprehensible, the companies named are not doing anything illegal. It should be stressed that this is not a list of companies breaking international sanctions – it is a list of companies that continue to conduct business in areas not subject to sanctions, such as foodstuffs and medicines.
