The government on July 20 has announced plans to build 7,680 flats in housing towers in 16 Assembly constituencies, under the first phase of its agenda to construct one lakh houses in the Core Urban Region (CURE). The government would give a subsidy of ₹5 lakh for each of the flats. Beneficiaries have to pay ₹6 lakh in four installments. Each flat would have a built up area of 528 square feet (sft), with carpet area of 400 sft.
