Laropi ferry services suspended for 15 days over repairs
“Ferry services across the Laropi-Umi Ferry route will be halted temporarily from August 10 to 25, 2026, to enable our technical team to undertake the necessary maintenance interventions,” the notice states.
According to a public notice issued by the ministry on August 6, 2026, ferry services (Laropi ferry) along the Laropi–Umi route on River Nile, which links Moyo and Adjumani districts, will be suspended from Monday, August 10th to August 25, 2026.
The Ministry of Works and Transport has temporarily suspended operations of MV Laropi Ferry for 15 days to allow repair works on the vessel's steel structure.
