Larkin to miss start of training camp for Red Wings with upper-body injury

Detroit Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin will miss the start of training camp due to an upper-body injury sustained during off-season training. The team has not provided a specific timeline for his return, and the organization continues to keep discussions regarding his trade request private.
Why it matters
Larkin is a key player and former captain for the Red Wings, and his injury combined with ongoing trade rumors creates significant uncertainty for the team's upcoming season.

DETROIT -- Dylan Larkin will not be on the ice to start training camp with the Detroit Red Wings because of an upper-body injury sustained during off-ice training earlier this week, interim general manager Shawn Horcoff said Wednesday.
Larkin, who has requested a trade , will be with the team rehabbing.
"It's going to take him a little bit of time to get back from it, and when we have a better timeline of when he will be back and available, we'll let everybody know," Horcoff said.
Horcoff said the Red Wings hope Larkin will return during the preseason.
