Largest Dhimsa dance recognised by Guinness World Records
Over 13,000 tribal women and students performed the traditional Dhimsa dance in Andhra Pradesh, earning a Guinness World Record. The event was organized to celebrate local cultural heritage ahead of the Prime Minister's visit to the new airport.

A performance of the traditional Dhimsa dance by more than 13,000 tribal women and girl students at the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport in Bhogapuram on Friday was recognised by Guinness World Records as the “largest Dhimsa dance”.
Representatives of Guinness World Records, who witnessed the performance, presented the official certificate to Andhra Pradesh Minister for Tribal Welfare Gummidi Sandhya Rani. The certificate recognises the achievement of the Department of Tribal Welfare, Government of Andhra Pradesh, and the participants.
The event, organised ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to inaugurate the airport on August 1, showcased the cultural heritage of North Andhra on a large scale.
