SHANGLA - A heavy landslide struck the Alpu rai-Khwazakhela main road at Al purai, sending large boulders and debris onto the highway and dis rupting traffic, while the threat of further rockfalls remained high.
Several large rocks tumbled down the mountainside during the incident and landed on the road. No loss of life was reported, but residents warned that the un stable slope posed a serious threat to motorists, passengers and near by houses.
The landslide left large boulders and debris scattered across the highway, disrupting the movement of vehicles along the key route con necting Shangla with other parts of the region. Motorists were forced to proceed cautiously amid fears of further rockfalls.
