Lachie Neale still has chance of playing AFL grand final as Lions confirm ban appeal

The Lions will appeal Lachie Neale's one-match ban in the hope of having the two-time premiership co-captain cleared for the grand final.

Neale says he will remain in Melbourne to support Brisbane regardless of whether he is allowed to play or not.

An appeals board hearing will be held tomorrow, beginning at 4pm, AEST.

Lachie Neale says he will remain in Melbourne to support Brisbane in Saturday's AFL grand final even if he is not successful with his appeals board hearing.

An appeals board hearing is the final avenue available for Neale, who unsuccessfully challenged the ban at a tribunal hearing last night .

The Lions announced this afternoon they would appeal the tribunal's decision.
