The victim has been identified as Manjunatha. The police have arrested the accused, identified as Palani.
According to the police, Manjunatha and Palani had an argument near a bar on Saturday night over a mobile phone that Palani had pledged with Manjunatha for money.
Palani had allegedly pawned his phone to arrange money and later demanded that Manjunatha return it, reportedly needing money to consume alcohol.
