A 47-year-old labourer died after falling from a tree while cutting branches in a forest near Aduvalli village in N.R. Pura taluk of Chikkamagaluru district on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Harish, a resident of Gadigeshwara in Aduvalli village. According to the police, he climbed a tree around 10.30 a.m. to cut leafy branches. He allegedly slipped and fell after a dry branch broke beneath him, sustaining fatal injuries.
Based on a complaint filed by his wife, Lakshmi, the Narasimharajapura police have registered a case against Girijamma, a resident of the same village.
