Following a stellar showing at the Cannes Film Festival back in May, Netflix has picked up exclusive distribution rights to the drama Gentle Monster, headlined by Léa Seydoux and Laurence Rupp. Netflix picked up four films that showed at the Cannes Film Festival 2026: La Bola Negra (The Black Ball), Sacrifice, In Waves, and Gentle Monster. The latter is directed by Marie Kreutzer (Corsage, The Ground Beneath My Feet) and stars BAFTA-nominated actress Léa Seydoux (Blue is the Warmest Colour), also known throughout Hollywood for her role as Dr. Madeleine Swann in the James Bond franchise, as well as appearances in big franchises Dune and Mission Impossible. Also co-starring is Austrian actor Laurence Rupp, who notably starred in Netflix's historical drama Barbarians.
