Kyambogo University wins national inter-universit

________________ Kyambogo University emerged winner of the 2026 National Inter-University Debate Competition, taking home the competition trophy after students from universities across the country battled over issues affecting higher education. The Kyambogo team received the trophy in a jubilant mood, accompanied by their principal warden, William Ngabirano. The competition, sponsored by UNESCO, brought together universities from Uganda's central, eastern, western and northern regions and was held at Makerere University in Kampala on September 29, 2026. According to the organisers, 29 universities had enrolled for the competition, but only 12 confirmed their attendance. The event was the second inter-university debate competition held under the theme: "Student Health, Safety and Well-being: A Catalyst for Enhanced Education Outcomes and Academic Excellence in Higher Education Institutions in Uganda." The participating universities included Makerere University, Makerere University Business School, Kampala International University, Kyambogo University, Gulu University and Lira University.
