ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Kuwait's army said Thursday that its air defenses were intercepting a missile and drone attack launched by Iran, as Tehran expanded its strikes against US allies across the Middle East.

"Kuwaiti air defenses are currently engaging hostile missile and drone attacks following the heinous Iranian aggression," Kuwait's army said in a statement posted on X.

Iran has targeted US military bases and allied positions in Kuwait, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Kurdistan Region following extensive US bombardment of sites across Iran on Tuesday.

Iranian state television confirmed that Tehran was targeting US bases in Kuwait, describing the attacks as a response to what it called America's "crimes against the Iranian people."
