A 5.5-acre historic country estate in New City, New York, once home to famous German composer Kurt Weill and actress Lotte Lenya, is now for sale for $1.995 million. Known as Brook House, the property at 116 South Mountain Road was bought by its current owners in 1993 for $490,000. Over the last 33 years, the owners have worked on a major restoration to update the 1880 home while keeping its rich creative history intact. Listed by property brokerage Ellis Sotheby's International Realty, the estate first went on the market earlier this year for $2.295 million before the price was lowered by $300,000 in September.A historic refuge for world-renowned creatorsAccording to real estate records published on Realtor.com and Zillow, Brook House has had only four owners in the last 110 years.
