Kurnool police recover 589 mobile phones
Kurnool district police in Andhra Pradesh successfully recovered 589 stolen mobile phones, bringing the total recovered to over 3,600 devices. Officials encouraged citizens to use the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal to track and report lost or stolen devices.

Kurnool district police recovered 589 mobile phones worth ₹1.20 crore and handed them over to their owners on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent of Police (SP) Vikrant Patil said that a total of 3,670 mobile phones worth ₹7.36 crore were recovered and handed over to their owners in the six phases so far as part of the mobile recovery programme. The SP said the District IT Core Team, Cyber Lab police, and local police were working in coordination to trace lost or stolen mobile phones.
Mr. Vikrant Patil said that mobile phones were recovered and brought from other States including Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan, in addition to Andhra Pradesh.
He said that in current times, a mobile phone is not merely an object of monetary value, as it also contains crucial information such as banking details, phone numbers, photos, videos, and personal data.
