Kurnool aiming to become major horticulture hub, says Collector

District Collector A. Siri said that a comprehensive action plan was being implemented to develop Kurnool district into a major hub for horticultural crop cultivation and to achieve the goals of the ‘Global Horticulture Hub’ initiative.
As part of the efforts to create awareness among the public, farmers, and students regarding the horticulture hub programme, the Collector flagged off a tractor rally on Wednesday. The rally was taken out from the Collectorate to C-Camp Rythu Bazar.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said the State government was striving to undertake development activities worth ₹1 lakh crore across the State as part of the ‘Global Horticulture Hub – Rayalaseema Rising’ programme. She highlighted that priority was being given to expanding the area under horticultural crops, constructing irrigation projects, and developing road infrastructure.
