KTR warns Congress against seeking KCR’s resignation, recalls 2006 episode

Addressing a protest in Karimnagar on Saturday (September 5, 2026) on the 1000-day rule of the Congress, KTR questioned the demand for former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s resignation . “Why should KCR resign? Should the person who brought Telangana resign?” he asked, asserting that Mr. Reddy should step down instead.
Recalling the political developments of 2006, when Congress leaders had demanded Mr. Chandrashekar Rao’s resignation in Karimnagar, KTR said the BRS leader’s resignation from the Lok Sabha and the subsequent political developments had dealt a blow to the Congress. He warned that the ruling party should remember that episode before asking for KCR’s resignation again.
