KTR seeks early construction of JNTU engineering college campus in Sircilla

BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao has urged the Telangana Chief Minister to expedite the construction of a permanent campus for the JNTU Engineering College in Sircilla. He expressed concern that shifting the college to a private building would disrupt academic activities.
Why it matters
The request highlights ongoing infrastructure delays in public education and the political pressure to maintain stable learning environments for students.
BRS working president and Sircilla MLA K.T. Rama Rao has urged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to resolve the problems faced by students of the JNTU Engineering College in Rajanna Sircilla district and expedite construction of its permanent campus, sanctioned at an estimated cost of ₹402 crore.
In a letter to the Chief Minister, Mr. Rama Rao said the project, accorded administrative approval in 2021, was yet to take off despite 20 acres having been allotted at Mandepalli village. The college is currently functioning temporarily on the premises of a degree college at Agraharam.
He expressed concern over proposals to shift the engineering college from its existing premises to another private building, stating that such a move could cause inconvenience to students, faculty members and other staff. He stressed the need to ensure that the classrooms, laboratories and other infrastructure already available at the present campus were not rendered redundant.
