KTR dares Revanth to order probe into both families’ assets

BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao has challenged Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to a judicial inquiry into the assets of both their families. The challenge comes amid ongoing political accusations regarding corruption and governance.
Why it matters
This reflects the intense political rivalry in Telangana and the use of asset transparency as a tool for political maneuvering.
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao on Thursday challenged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to agree to a comprehensive inquiry by a sitting Supreme Court judge into the assets of both their families.
Responding to the Chief Minister’s remarks on his assets at a public meeting in Sircilla on Wednesday, Mr. Rama Rao said he was ready for a probe into his assets and those of the Chief Minister’s family.
Speaking at Telangana Bhavan after several Congress and BJP leaders and workers from the Armoor Assembly constituency joined the BRS, Mr. Rao said he had worked in the United States for six years before starting a hotel business in 2006. He said details of his assets and business interests had been disclosed in his 2009 election affidavit.
