A suspect has been charged with murder after a Kentucky State Police trooper was killed in a shooting in western Kentucky Monday. What we know Kentucky State Police said the shooting happened Monday on I-65 in Warren County, Kentucky, near Bowling Green. Warren County is located about 210 miles southwest of Cincinnati. According to KSP, 28-year-old Trooper Hayden Phillips was shot and killed during a traffic stop while patrolling I-65. KSP says Phillips had pulled over 51-year-old Emonnie Branch, from Tennessee. Police said that's when Branch shot Phillips and took off. Suspect located after manhunt A statewide Blue Alert was issued after the shooting and canceled after Branch was taken into custody by the Louisville Metro Police Department. Branch has been charged with murder of a first responder or peace officer. He will be taken back to Warren County, Kentucky to face that charge.
