KSOU offers 65 courses; admissions open till October 15

Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) has opened admissions to 65 courses for the current academic cycle, with October 15 being the last date to apply.

Addressing a press conference in Dharwad on Tuesday, KSOU Vice-Chancellor A.P. Jnanaprakash said the university offered a range of programmes through the open and distance learning mode and that its certificates were recognised for employment, including recruitment to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), subject to the eligibility requirements of the respective recruitment processes.

He said students could also pursue two courses simultaneously at KSOU in accordance with applicable regulations.

For the first time, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has approved 500 seats for the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme at KSOU. The university has also introduced 10 online courses. Candidates who have completed PUC are eligible to apply for these programmes, he said.
