KSEAB increases SSLC exam fee by 5%
The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board has announced a 5% increase in SSLC examination fees for the 2027 academic year. The hike applies to all categories of students, including freshers, repeaters, and private candidates.
Why it matters
This fee adjustment impacts the affordability of secondary education for thousands of students in Karnataka, reflecting ongoing administrative cost revisions.
The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has increased the SSLC examination fee for the March/April 2027 examinations by 5%.
With this hike, candidates appearing for the SSLC examinations have to pay a fee of ₹746 this year, compared to ₹710 last year.
The board has issued a circular in this regard, justifying the hike by citing a 2020 government order that proposed an annual fee revision.
The board has also directed schools to collect the revised fee from students registering for examinations under all categories. “The 5% hike is for all category students including repeaters, freshers and private candidates,” reads the circular.
