Krishna and Bhima receive heavy inflows following widespread rains
Heavy rainfall in upstream areas has caused water levels in the Krishna and Bhima rivers to rise significantly, leading to large-scale water releases from reservoirs. The district administration has issued alerts to residents and farmers to avoid riverbanks and waterbodies.

Both Krishna and Bhima rivers in Yadgir district are in spate following heavy inflows from upstream reservoirs after days of widespread rainfall.
According to a release issued by the Krishna Bhagya Jala Nigam Limited (KBJNL) on Tuesday, the Basavasagar reservoir at Narayanapur in Shorapur taluk recorded an inflow of 1.50 lakh cusecs. As a result, 1.45 lakh cusecs of water was released downstream into the Krishna.
The water level in the reservoir stood at 491.38 metres on Tuesday, against its full reservoir level of 492.25 metres.
The Bhima, which flows about two km from the Yadgir district headquarters, is also witnessing a sharp rise in water level following the release of water from the Sannati bridge-cum-barrage in Chittapur taluk of neighbouring Kalaburagi district.
