TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) responds to the possibility of summoning former Governor of Bank Indonesia, Perry Warjiyo, as a witness in the investigation of alleged corruption in the Bank Indonesia (BI) social program. Perry recently resigned from his position."The summoning of witnesses is certainly based on the needs of the investigators," said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in a written statement on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. "Not simply because someone retired from their position and then summoned for questioning."According to Budi, investigators summon someone as a witness to gather information known to that person. This information is needed to assist the investigators in uncovering the case.He urged the public to follow the progress of the investigation as the legal process is still ongoing. "The KPK will certainly reveal the truth of this case, including the actions of the parties involved," said Budi.
