KP approves free BRT travel for senior citizens under Ehsaas Buzurg Card

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved a free public transport facility for citizens aged 60 and above, allowing registered beneficiaries of the Ehsaas Buzurg Card programme to travel on BRT buses without paying fares.
The decision was taken at a meeting on the senior citizens' welfare programme chaired by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi.

Under the initiative, eligible elderly residents will be able to use the province's Bus Rapid Transit network free of charge through their Ehsaas Buzurg Cards. The provincial government is expected to bear an annual cost of approximately Rs935 million for the facility.
