Kovur sugar factory workers to receive ₹22 crore in pending wages after 11 years

The workers of the now-defunct Kovur sugar factory have finally received their pending wages, totalling ₹22 crore, after 11 years. The State government recently sanctioned the amount and issued an order to this effect.

Kovur MLA Vemireddy Prashanthi Reddy expressed happiness at the new development and thanked the State government for its gesture. At the party office in Nellore, Ms. Prashanthi Reddy, along with the beneficiaries, performed ‘Palabhishekam’ on the portrait of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu as a sign of gratitude on Sunday.
