Grandmaster Koneru Humpy , accompanied by her father Ashok, met Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh at his residence in Undavalli on Friday (October 9, 2026) and sought the government’s support for establishing a chess academy in Amaravati.
Mr. Lokesh congratulated Ms. Humpy on India’s women’s team winning the bronze medal at the recently held Chess Olympiad 2026 and on her individual bronze medal on Board 1 in the women’s section.
