Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy extended financial assistance of ₹2 lakh for the medical treatment of a child born to a couple from Panigiri village in the erstwhile Nalgonda district.
Jampala Mahesh Kumar and Rajitha, both speech- and hearing-impaired, approached the Minister seeking help for their child, who was also born with speech and hearing disabilities. Doctors had reportedly told the family that appropriate treatment could offer the child a chance to develop speech, but the treatment would involve considerable expenditure.
Responding to their appeal, Mr. Reddy assured the couple of his support and handed over ₹2 lakh as immediate financial assistance towards the child’s treatment. He also personally interacted with the child and comforted the parents.
