Flautist Praveen Godkhindi’s musical play Kolalu Dot Comedy will be staged at the Sawai Gandharva Hall in Deshpande Nagar in Hubballi on Saturday.

The production is being staged in memory of theatre personality and director late Yashwant Sardeshpande.

Kshamata Seva Samsthe, promoted by Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, is organising the event.

The 90-minute play, conceived, written and directed by Dr. Godkhindi, brings together Hindustani classical music and humour.

Entry to the programme will be free for music and theatre enthusiasts.

The story revolves around a strict Hindustani classical musician and uses humour while retaining the character and seriousness of classical music.

Dr. Godkhindi and Dharwad-based theatre artiste Ravi Kulkarni play the lead roles. The dialogues are in North Karnataka dialect adding local flavour to the production.
