Kodagu: Harangi Dam releases surplus water as inflows rise
The Harangi Reservoir in Kodagu has begun releasing surplus water due to consistent rainfall in its catchment area. Officials confirmed that 4,000 cusecs of water are being discharged through the dam's crest gates.

With good rainfall continuing in the Harangi catchment area in Kodagu district, surplus water was released from the Harangi Reservoir into the river on Saturday.
The reservoir is receiving an inflow of 4,000 cusecs, and an equal quantity of water is being discharged into the river through the dam’s crest gates, according to a press release.
Prior to the release, special prayers were offered at the reservoir.
Executive Engineer Mahesh, Assistant Executive Engineer Puttaswamy, Assistant Engineer Kiran Devaiah and other officials were present.
