Kochi Corporation’s maiden Local Area Plan around Vyttila submitted for govt. approval

The Kochi Corporation has submitted its maiden Local Area Plan (LAP), anchored in the concept of transit-oriented development (ToD), to the State government ahead of its implementation. At a meeting chaired by Mayor V.K. Minimol in June this year, the LAP Special Committee approved the final draft after incorporating the suggestions and complaints received from the public following its publication in the gazette in March. Subsequently, the Kochi Corporation council cleared the decision in August to submit the plan through the Chief Town Planner for approval by the Local Self-Government department.
