The group, in a statement signed by its representative, Comrade Ogundele Ayo, said the proposal should be resisted by workers, students, parents and other Nigerians.

Socialist Labour argued that education was a fundamental responsibility of government and should not be treated as a marketplace for profit.

“King’s College, Lagos, is one of Nigeria’s foremost educational institutions and part of the historic public educational legacy built by previous generations,” the group said.
