SHEMBE church breaks silence after king's viral video.
The Nazareth Baptist Church, popularly known as Shembe, has broken its silence after a video allegedly showing Zulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini insulting his wife and church leader Inkosi Mduduzi "Unyazi Lwezulu" Shembe went viral.
In the video, the king is heard calling Shembe an idiot (is'lima). It's not clear who leaked the video, but it appears to have been recorded by Queen Nomzamo Myeni.
In the clip, King Misuzulu is seen holding a green beer bottle while speaking. The video sparked debate on social media, with some people questioning whether he was under the influence.
A Siswati-speaking woman sitting next to him is heard trying to calm him down.
But when she suggested that older women should advise the queen on how a royal wife should behave, the king became angry.
He claimed such women came from the Shembe church.
