The 77-year-old king issued a letter earlier this week to senior officials across the U.K. government to inform everyone that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex remain non-working members of the royal family despite their recent return to Britain.

In it, the letter stated (per People ), “In short, their position is akin to private citizens with commercial and charitable interests.”

However, sources close to Harry, 41, and Meghan, 45, are pushing back on His Majesty’s words given that the couple is actually quite famous.
