Kindiki arrives in Ethiopia for African security forum

Kenyan official Kindiki arrived in Ethiopia to attend the Tana Forum, a high-level security conference focused on African peace and economic sovereignty. The event gathers leaders and experts to discuss regional stability and resource management.
Why it matters
The Tana Forum serves as a key platform for African-led policy discussions on security and geopolitical transformation.
Kindiki was received at Bahir Dar International Airport on Saturday by Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
The forum, running from October 23 to 25, brings together African leaders, policymakers and other stakeholders to discuss the continent’s peace and security challenges under the theme, “Pathways to Peace in Africa: Economic Sovereignty and Geopolitical Transformation.”
Discussions will examine how Africa’s management of its resources, economic institutions and regional integration can contribute to lasting peace.
According to the organisers, the agenda includes resource wealth and monetary sovereignty for industrial development, macroeconomic governance, and the impact of illicit economies on regional stability. About 250 participants are expected, including sitting and former heads of state and government, diplomats, academics, civil society representatives and private sector leaders.
