Kilambakkam skywalk project likely to be completed by Dec.
The construction of a skywalk connecting the Kilambakkam Bus Terminus to a new railway station in Chennai has been delayed due to logistical and regulatory hurdles. The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority expects the project to be completed by the first week of December.

The skywalk project linking the Kilambakkam Bus Terminus with the newly constructed railway station has been delayed and is expected to be completed by this year-end. The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) is executing the project at a cost of ₹79 crore.
Southern Railway officials said that while the civil work for the construction of the halt railway station had been completed, the delay involved the installation of the skywalk.
A senior CMDA official said the project was being executed in three phases — installing the first deck on GST Road towards Chengalpattu, the second deck towards Tambaram, and the third deck linking the railway station through the private land acquired for creating the access way.
The first girder on the GST Road has been installed, and work on installing lifts at the bus terminus is under way.
