A special High Court session has sentenced prison warder Moses Anguyo to death for the cold-blooded murder of four people during the February 23, 2026 Kiboga prison shooting.
Presiding Judge Jane Okuo Kajuga delivered the stern verdict, ruling that the gravity of taking four lives outweighed any mitigating factors, including the convict's late plea of guilt, expressed remorse, or apology to the victims' grieving families.
"Perhaps, if it was only a single life lost. Four lives should not go for a life imprisonment," Justice Kajuga told the court, emphasizing that the sheer scale of the atrocity demanded the maximum punishment under the law.
