Key member of alleged drug distribution network arrested from Bengaluru

The police have arrested a 40-year-old man identified as Nizam alias Nikki, a resident of South Bazaar in Kannur, allegedly a key member of a drug distribution network operating in the district.
According to the police, Nizam, who is also an accused in several alleged narcotic cases, was arrested from Bengaluru by a team led by Town inspector K.T. Akhil, acting on the instructions of District Police Chief B.V. Vijayabharath Reddy, Assistant Commissioner of Police M.P. Azad, and Town Inspector Mahesh Kandambeth.
Nizam was questioned after the police seized 153.379 grams of suspected MDMA from Mattannur on Monday (October 5). During the investigation, police reportedly obtained information that Nizam was involved in supplying drugs. A subsequent probe led to his arrest from Bengaluru.
