In Kerry, the excitement is palpable ahead of this Sunday's All-Ireland Ladies Senior Football Championship final against Galway.

Yesterday morning, supporters and former players gathered at the Manor West Hotel in Tralee for Kerry LGFA's All-Ireland Preview Breakfast.

As well as looking ahead to Sunday’s decider, the event celebrated the county’s rich ladies’ football tradition, honouring the Kerry team that contested the first ever women's football final to be played at Croke Park - in 1986.

Commemorative jerseys have also been developed to mark the anniversary.

Kerry LGFA Chairperson Nora Fealey believes this year’s final has captured the imagination of supporters like never before.

"I think this is the biggest final yet," she said. "There’s a lot of noise and interest about it.

"All the kids watching those girls, it’s really building their confidence. This team are a brilliant inspiration.
